Lumber Prices on the Rise Again in 2025

October 2, 2025

Lumber prices are climbing once more in 2025, reaching levels significantly higher than pre-pandemic numbers. These increases are being driven by a mix of factors — including strong housing demand, ongoing supply chain disruptions, and concerns over new U.S. tariffs on Canadian lumber imports.

This trend presents a challenge for the pallet and packaging industry as a whole and for CTC Packaging specifically.

“As of January 1, lumber prices were at $575 and have continued to rise, reaching $595 as of September,” explains Jeremy Staples, VP of Sales at CTC Packaging. “We’ve worked hard to hold our pallet pricing below those levels since last year. Unfortunately, we will be forced to adjust our pricing effective October 6, knowing that prices can — and likely will — continue to rise through the winter months. Our goal is to keep these increases to a minimum and continue to closely monitor the market.”

The rising cost of lumber is also impacting other industries, most notably construction and housing. The National Association of Home Builders is actively advocating for solutions that could help reduce the strain on both businesses and consumers (read more here).

At CTC Packaging, our commitment remains the same: to provide customers with the best pallet and packaging solutions at the most affordable pricing possible. We’ll continue to track lumber market conditions closely and make adjustments as needed — keeping transparency and service at the forefront.

If you have questions about how rising lumber costs may affect your pallets, packaging, or shipping needs, contact CTC Packaging today. Our team is here to help you navigate the market with confidence and reliability.
